Local Acupuncturist’s Labor of Love Gives Hope to Fertility Challenged

PALM BEACH COUNTY—Susan Schiff, a veteran acupuncturist, has dedicated her career to helping fertility challenged couples.  For the past 12 years, Acupuncture Associates of Delray Beach, headed by Schiff, has aided hundreds of fertility challenged individuals.

“It is truly a labor of love,” she stressed.  “I often meet with patients who have been advised they are infertile when in fact they are just severely imbalanced,” she explained.

Fertility challenges are quite common according to Schiff. Recent figures from the National Infertility Association reflect this, as 7.3 million people, approximately one in every eight couples, in the United States are affected by infertility issues.

“It is my goal to help as many people as possible in their quest for optimum health through a safe and supportive healing environment,” she noted.

Because of the number of inquiries she received from the western Palm Beach County communities, Schiff recently added an office in Wellington.
She maintains flexible hours at both offices to accommodate the hectic lifestyles of her patients.

In addition to geographic diversity, Schiff also treats patients from all ethnic backgrounds searching for solutions.

“Infertility does not discriminate,” the member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine stated.

Schiff customizes each treatment plan because a cookie-cutter approach does not work in this field.

“Each person has a unique set of issues surrounding his/her difficulties which must be addressed in order for the treatment to attempt to be effective, Schiff remarked.

In order to empower those experiencing reproductive issues beyond South Florida, Schiff, and her partner, Dr. Andrea Lawrence, created a comprehensive source of Eastern and Western medicine on the subject of fertility.  AcuBaby.com features fertility and diagnosis glossary, a practitioner finder, fertility articles and case studies.

“Fertility challenges can be very troublesome for any couple.  It is my hope that Acu-Baby.com will provide a venue where couples can find the most up-to-date information and then make a self-empowering decision about their life in the privacy of their home or office,” she said.

Alternative medicine practitioners often face skepticism.  Schiff’s extensive education is a great source of credibility for the graduate of the University of Florida, The Heilonjiang School of Chinese Medicine, and the Traditional School of Chinese Healthcare.  She is also a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, a National certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) Diplomate of Acupuncture as well as Chinese herbal medicine.
